Children & Migration at the Children’s Museum
This year, IOM Belgium and Luxembourg is celebrating International Migrants Day with two special events focusing on the topic of children and migration.
On 12 December, all children are invited at the Children’s Museum in Brussels, where IOM and the Museum jointly organize an interactive day in the brand new exhibition ‘Wings to Grow Up’. During the day, kids will be encouraged to think about the topic of migration and diversity, in an interactive manner.
The morning will be dedicated to schools. Five groups of 15 primary school students and their teachers (4th to 6th grade) will be walking through the Museum with an animator.
In the afternoon, the Museum opens its doors from 2.30pm until 5pm. All families and youth associations are warmly invited to participate in the event during which they will enjoy various workshops (tales, construction, do-it-yourself and cooking) and a theatre play, all tailored to the topic of the day. The activities in the afternoon are targeting children from 4 to 12 years.

On 18 December 2018, a movie screening event to celebrate International Migrants Day - and as part of the Global Migration Film Festival - will take place at Cinema Vendôme, Brussels. For more information on this event, followed by a debate, musical interlude and reception, click here.
