In April 2023, IOM hosted two engaging in-person information sessions for Belgian employers to explore the benefits of hiring displaced talent and the recruitment process through DT4E (Displaced Talent for Europe). The information sessions were attended by more than 30 employers from different industries. Businesses in the fields of ICT, construction, engineering, pharmaceuticals, logistics and healthcare discovered a game-changing way to access an untapped talent pool of more than 70.000 displaced individuals with diverse competences and skills. After a plenary presentation, employers had the opportunity to engage with experts in the field of labour mobility. These experts shared their experiences and knowledge, addressing employers' questions on talent sourcing, visa procedures, and relocation and integration.
Thanks to the information sessions and many follow-up bilateral meetings, employers gained valuable insights into the potential of international recruitment through DT4E and the potential of displaced talents for their organizations.
Several Belgian employers have shared their unfilled vacancies with the DT4E team, and the matching and recruitment processes have commenced. The DT4E pathway is no longer a hypothetical concept but a reality that is positively impacting the Belgian labour market.
