  • Progress Actiris Coordination Platform project

    Last week, the IOM Country Office of Belgium and Luxembourg, in close coordination with Actiris, the Brussels regional employment agency,  successfully concluded the first phase of the Actiris Coordination Platform project. The aim of the project is to  improve the coordination among actors active in the field of labour market integration of newcomers in the Brussels-Capital Region, through the development of an in-person and a digital platform. 

  • EU Anti-Trafficking Day

    The EU Anti-Trafficking Day was established by the European Commission in 2007 and is celebrated on 18 October every year since. It is a great occasion to raise awareness on trafficking in human beings and increase the exchange of information, knowledge and best practices among the different actors working in this field. 

  • Paving the Way for Future Labour Migration: a Belgian-Tunisian Skills Mobility Partnership

    IOM Belgium, jointly with the Center for European Policy Studies (CEPS), has published today a policy brief on its pilot labour migration project implemented between Belgium and Tunisia.

    Op 24 september 2020 organiseren Voka West-Vlaanderen, Voka Oost-Vlaanderen en IOM België een online infosessie omtrent het MATCH-project getiteld "Buitenlands talent als antwoord op uw openstaande vacatures?". Deze sessie is gericht naar alle ondernemingen die te kampen hebben met structurele tekorten op de arbeidsmarkt en hun horizon durven te verbreden.   • Kick-off new Actiris - IOM project

    On 10 July 2020, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Belgium was invited by Actiris, the Brussels Regional Employment Agency, to digitally kick off the new project on improving coordination between stakeholders active in the field of labour market integration of newcomers in the Brussels-Capital Region.

  • Equalcity Project Updates

    The Equalcity project aims at tackling sexual and gender-based violence in EU cities. The project team has developed 4 project updates on their activities with specific information on the impact of COVID-19 on migrant communities.

    The udpates focus on LGBTQI+ migrants, Migrant women and girls, Unaccompanied Migrant Children, and Migrant families.

  • MATCH webinar "Hiring talents from Senegal and Nigeria"

    Within the framework of the MATCH project, IOM Belgium and Luxembourg organized on the 7th of May 2020 the first online info session for the MATCH project. The webinar "Hiring Talents from Senegal and Nigeria" outlined how MATCH can respond to the needs of Belgian companies looking for qualified professionals by facilitating the recruitment of young African talents from Senegal and Nigeria.

  • Attention Filmmakers: The Global Migration Film Festival Opens its Fifth Season with a Worldwide Call for Submissions

    The world’s largest film festival dedicated to migration is launching its Fifth Edition, starting with a worldwide call for entries. All submissions will be considered for the festival in the categories of features, shorts and online films. All submissions may be offered for review starting next month (6 April) and must be submitted no later than 21 June 2020.
