20 Km of Brussels - Join our UN Migration Team!
Brussels - In collaboration with the United Nations Regional Information Center (UNRIC), the UN Migration Agency (International Organization for Migration – IOM) is setting up for the 4th time a team, the UN Migration Team, to run&walk under the colours of the Together campaign at the 20 Km of Brussels. A major event in Belgium, taking you on a journey through Brussels’ most beautiful monuments and parks, on Sunday, the 28th of May 2017 (10 am).
We would be extremely glad to include YOU, your colleagues/other professional contacts/friends/family in our team! Belgium Plays 4 Peace is also running with us this year, another good reason to join forces!
TOGETHER is a global initiative that promotes respect, safety and dignity for everyone forced to flee their homes in search of a better life. Aimed at changing perceptions and attitudes towards refugees and migrants, the campaign was initiated during the UN Summit for Refugees and Migrants on September 19th 2016.
The 20 km of Brussels is getting together runners and joggers from 121 different nationalities! Even if you are not a top runner or if you come from abroad, you are welcome to join our team. You have the possibility to run or walk, at your own pace. You have 4 hours to finish the event.
During this event, the UN Migration Team will convey the following message: “Together, we can change the narrative, in support of non-discrimination and acceptance of refugees and migrants”. The team will include, among others migrants, UN agencies and partners, the general public, and possibly public figures.
What will you get if you join our team?
a special designed T-shirt
