Brussels - The MAGNET II project, which facilitates the sustainable reintegration of Iraqi nationals who voluntarily return from six European countries to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) through vocational training and job placements, came to a close after a final meeting in Brussels on 17 March 2016.

Brussels - From 22 until 26 June, the IOM CO for Belgium and Luxembourg facilitated the study visit of a delegation from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Ministry of Security – Sector for Immigration, within the framework of the ‘Support to the Immigration and Asylum Management System in Bosnia and Herzegovina’ Project.
Brussels - On 30 March, 22 resettled Syrian refugees made the journey from Turkey to Belgium. At the same time a selection mission of Syrian refugees currently based in Lebanon was conducted.
Geneva - On 27 January, the IOM Director General, William Lacy Swing, and the IOM Chief of Mission for Belgium and Luxembourg, Mr Pascal Reyntjens, met at IOM Headquarters in Geneva with the Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Development Cooperation, Mr Alexander De Croo.
